Documentation

Documentation and condition appraisal is an integral part of any conservation or preservation plan. Intach ICCI has carried out documentation and condition appraisals for many famous sites and art collections from time to time. It involves the preparation of detailed documentation reports on large art collections like painting, sculptures, manuscripts and other memorabilia and wall paintings. All INTACH ICCI centres spread around the country have the capacity to prepare these reports after undertaking detailed surveys by expert conservators, either to the collections or the mural sites. Condition appraisal reports discuss at length the conservation status of a particular collection or site. They also give suggestions on their conservation and preservation. Condition appraisal reports are often used by owners to gather resources and facilities for carrying out actual conservation.
