Heritage awareness and people’s involvement in heritage issues is one of INTACH’s primary mandates. Our target groups are:
Schools and colleges
Professional groups
Policy makers
Locals development authorities
Visitors to heritage sites
Private owners of heritage properties
The public at large
  
Heritage Clubs programme started in 2002 to involve school students in our efforts to save heritage by creating awareness. 

At present, HECS has a network of over 650 Heritage Clubs in 40 cities across the country.

Conservation of heritage sites and creative capacity building programmes for the economic and social improvement of communities living in the vicinity of heritage sites.

 

Developing and designing of educational material on heritage awareness including worksheets, handy guides, books, manuals and heritage maps.

Online exhibition of children’s paintings on the built, natural and living heritage. Also see Heritage Cards painted by school children.

 

The projects include a variety of heritage awareness programmes for teachers, students and the public and conservation projects for heritage sites.
