The initial corpus of INTACH
was generated with a grant of Rs.5 Crores (Rs. 50 Million)
from the Government of India. With support from the INTACH
(UK) Trust and the Government of India, INTACH built its
headquarters at 71, Lodi Estate, New Delhi.
To enhance and promote the cause of heritage conservation,
INTACH has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s)
with several national and international organizations. In
recent years INTACH has been fortunate to receive support
from the Central Government and several ministries such as
Education and Human Resource Development, Environment and
Forests, Tourism and Culture. A range of projects has been
initiated through several state governments. Corporate
houses, and international agencies such as UNESCO, the
Gulbenkian Foundation, Portugal, the Helen Hamlyn Trust,
UK and Jaisalmer in Jeopardy, UK, have all provided
generous grants to INTACH for conservation work and other
related activities.
